Bring Sound & Story Labs to your school.

Department of Sound partners with schools across Sacramento and Yolo counties to run music production and podcasting labs during the school day or after school. We are an approved vendor with Twin Rivers Unified and work with districts under Prop 28 arts funding.

What we bring: a teaching artist, the curriculum, Soundtrap licenses for every student, headphones and journals, a studio day at Shattered Records, a compilation album, and a listening party.

What you provide:

A classroom with Chromebooks, a staff member present during sessions, and help with recruitment and permission slips.

Prop 28

Arts partners like DOS can be paid from a district's Prop 28 allocation. We can help with the paperwork.

A typical semester:

An after-school lab, a school-wide assembly, and a production day for one grade.
